the explanation of setting the compound ( visual using the protractor to demonstrate the correct setting ) will surly benefit a lot of people who struggle with the correct setting

Very impressed with the re-registration of the chuck  :thumbup:

Finishing cuts are always a sod (at least that's the way I find them ;) )  I was taught to give the tool a light wipe with a fine stone prior to the final cut to clear any tiny bits of swarf sticking to the cutting edge  (I use a diamond lap for carbide inserts).  Don't be afraid to polish the job - sometimes it's the only way to get a finish.

BTW The Hardinge spindle lock has 6 positions which are very handy for quick indexing  2 or 3 radial positions. Does the Boxford have more than one lock position?

No the boxford only has one position on the spindle lock
