I enjoy both metal work and working with wood so this little project has allowed me to indulge.
-
That looks absolutely stunning, job well done :headbang:. Does action man know how lucky he is?
-
That does look amazing. Nice job!

This is the Kitchen rudder I am working on at the moment. In the reverse and full ahead position.
-
I am a neophyte... Can you explain how that rudder works?
-
That is a strange setup! It looks to me like it runs in the open position being steered by the linkage on the left side as two seperate rudders that can be closed like a funnel that could provide some stopping power like a reverse thruster on a jet. But what the h do I know!
-
The rudder is not finished yet which might be causing some problems trying to work it out.
The cups provide forward and reverse control, if the cups are part opened the boat will in theory stand still in the water.
The whole mechanism rotates for direction control. I still need to add the leaver which operates the scissor levers, which in turn open and close the cups.
Hope this helps

Yes it does thanks.

A short video to show how it will work once the cup lever is added.
-
Thats what I thought thanks for the video

Just tried the rudder in the launch.
Next job is the A frame but the bottle of Cape Nelson stopped progress.

Looking good!
