Title: VMC Mill Quill Fine Adjust Wheel Question???
Post by: Seaco on August 22, 2013, 04:41:56 PM
Hi All

A quick one hopefully I have just become the owner of a Denford Easimill I have never had one before and have no manual it is still on the pallet awaiting installation but I have had a play all seems ok the larger handle on the right hand side works the quill but the small fine adjust hand wheel on the front of the head just turns and doesn't do anything is there something I need to do to get this to operate?

Any help really appreciated...

If it's anything like my mill/drill, you need to first engage the clutch by tightening the nut or knob at the center of the handle spider.

Hi Marv

I also thought maybe that and did loosen and tighten this nut (see pic is this the one you mean) but it didn't seem to make a difference?

That looks very similar to my mill
That is the engagement nut
You will have to "jiggle" the coarse feed lever as you tighten the engagement nut

Hi John

Do you tighten or loosen for the fine feed to work?

Lee,

can I suggest you join the Denford bulletin board / forum at www.denfordata.com/bb

In particular, they have a manual & exploded drawings that I think match your machine at
http://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=1142

(you may need to register before you can download the manual)
