I'm starting to put together my own wee casting setup now. Could you tell me more about your casting sand and where you got it from (if it's anywhere local that is)?

The sand is called "Mansfield Red"
I get it from a local foundry
Once you are ready I will be able to sort some out for you

I like to watch people melting and casting metal.

Most interesting all the variations in techniques that you see.

Forgive me if I am wrong but aren't you going to machine off where the shrinkage is ?
