Are you allowed to measure the engine at the museum?

Are you allowed to measure the engine at the museum?
Yes:- sent email and got a reply back from the curator giving me permission to measure it up, but true to good old English communication he didn't tell the guys on the shop floor, and they'd started the engine up so is was too hot for me to measure, but had a real good chat with them and changed emails so next time I go in a couple of weeks time I'll be contacting them direct.
Took a vid of this beast as well
Cheers

Hi Stew, Have you made any progress on the drawings and preparation for the "grasshopper engine" yet? That looks like a very interesting build, and one that should go pretty straight forward, lots of moving parts, but not too many intricate and arcane dimentional issues requiring extreme exactitude. I'm looking forward to that build when you get it started. Mad Jack :headbang:

Hi Jack
I made arrangements with the museum a few weeks ago, when I got there all the engines were running, which was great but it meant I couldn't get to them to do my measuring thing, found out the reason they were running was that they were testing them ready for a visit by HRH wing nut ears (Charlie) most inconciderate if them, you'd have thought they'd have told him to hang on until Stew was done with them. Haven't been able to free up time since to go over but I will.
