Post by: polecat on April 17, 2015, 07:34:09 AM
as a side issue to an earlier thread is there a book / chart that i can look at that tells you the sizes you have to machine to put a thread on or into pipes particulary into pipes/ tubes
new to this not engineering trained i'm only an engraver by trade so this is new i have used taps n dies but that is cheating
thanks polecat

If you download the Exel file from here you can sort the columns.

External threads are just about nominal size or thereabouts, internal depends on the pitch, thread angle, and % of thread depth to derive the appropriate tapping drill / bore.

There are loads of   books / charts to download, you just need to search for the species of thread.

Edit   .... I'll try putting the link in  .... pillock  :bang:
