What a great site you have here. I just found it by following SBHART's post on his tool post grinder over on the HSM site.
My name is Mel Larsen and I live on the great Oregon Coast. I retired in 2003 and moved to Oregon from Idaho where I worked for nearly 30 years at the INEL, a nuclear reactor testing site.
I am a self taught, Do IT Youself sort of guy and enjoy almost all the Home Shop Hobbys. I have a pretty well packed little shop in a single car garage with most of the needed tools for wood working, welding, and machine shop activities. I also dab a little in the stained glass world.
I love to modify and build tooling for the shop. My most recent project was adaptiing a treadmill motor to my 9 X 20 grizzly lathe for the varible speed capability. Works great.
I have built several small air powered steam engines in the past couple of years and one IC hit and miss engine. Following photos are of the engines and my messy , crowded shop.

Hi Mel welcome aboard the cube :borg:-
Looks like you've got some good kit there, and a real nice collection of engines. Look forward to your contributions and watch out for the leg pulling we do a bit of that on her.
Have fun

Hi Mel,
Welcome to the collective. :borg:
When I seen your handle as a new memeber I was wondering if you were the same "nut" that is on HMEM? Can't be two nut's living on the Coast of Oregon now can there?
I don't think the shop is messy at all, crowded maybe, but not messy.
I have a bit of an interest in your conversion of the 9 X 20 Grizzly. I have one too and have it totaly torn apart and plan on putting a tread mill DC motor on it. So I might have to pick your brain to see how you did it.
Make your self at home and join right in.
Regards,
Bernd

Welcome to MadModders. Looks like you have a fairly well stocked garage. Be interesting to see some more info on the engines as you get a chance.
Be careful as :proj: seems to be running rampant this year.
Cheers
