Made the annual trek up the state toWindsor today for the 2015 Model engineering show sponsored by the American Precision Museum. It was great to see all of the models, hundreds of them, and meet Joe D and his wife. I'm sure Joe has some photos so I'll just post some of the ones I took mostly of the museum's tools and displays plus a few of the models I really liked at the enginering show:
Museum: always loved this vertical shaper:

Boring a steam cylinder:

-
Can't remember what this was. Uhhhh, rotary table mill? Vertical lathe?
-
Perhaps something more modern? How about a multi-purpose machine for the tiny shop?

Nice little shop press:

Some fine machines there Steve.
That multi-function machine could well be ex navy. Many ships were equipped thus when space was tight.
-
Love the underwear shielding the modesty of the press legs !
-
Having built boats and lived aboard, and now with a tiny shop Andrew, I like that kind of thing! Wonder if the museum delivers?
Here's a rifle boring machine:

Hey Rob! Come on over!
Gear Cutter with huge dividing plate:

And then, at the museum itself there are 3 cases of absolutely incredible machine tool models, that work by J Schauer, and a steam plant to drive it. Horizontal and vertical gang mills --- you can't even take the detail in it is so incredible.
The model engineering show takes place down the street, but the models in the museum on display are truly amazing:
The engine and boiler room:

One of the 2 cases of toolroom floors with couple blow ups to show the level of detail:

Heh, got me staring at that Ford pipe engine again!
There was some fine workmanship and very impressive engines there, Joe. A few that caught my eye:
Triple expansion marne steam:
and others

But I kept coming back to that Ford pipe engine:

Well Steve, let me know when you start to build one, I'll send you the switch....

Great looking place thanks for the pics!

Hey Rob! Come on over!
One day Steve ,Julie keeps bugging me to go to New York ,but I am sure I could leave here there for a few days and head North . :med: . I would love to see those machines and the model machine tools , look a good collection . Maybe meet up with Joe so I can show him how to shoot :)
Joe was that a model show you were at ? ,,,,,,,,,,,,, allot of really fine looking engines
-
Hey Rob....
Any help with the shooting would be a good thing... got anything that fixes old eyes?
If you are going as far south as Windsor for the show, head 4 hours north to Montreal!
My photos were of the same show as Steve.
Cheers, Joe
