Title: Don't need no stinking paint shaker!
Post by: PTsideshow on June 14, 2011, 05:22:12 PM
To borrow and paraphrase a famous line from a movie! Don't need no stinking paint shaker! I got a call from an friend of a friend kind of deal. He was going to make me a deal on a pneumatic paint shaker from HF.
HF paint shaker
He was going to sell it to me for $90.00 since he paid $129.00 for it and it was only used a dozen times. Told him that I have a paint shaker that I made and it works fine and was a lot cheaper. Posted Image Be sides when they are on sale with the coupon they are cheaper than that. Told him when its down to $25.00 give me a call back!

Another sign painter at a Walldogs get together in Illinois years ago showed us a pretty slick item for rattle cans, pints and half pints.
That fits in a reciprocating saw and will shake up rattle can in under a minute. Since a lot of the people are adding rattle can color or clear to their work on here. I figure it might find some users.
I have a cheap HF recip saw that it lives in. As it has their quick blade chuck on the saw, so I'm not using my Milwaukee in such an abusive manner

I used a long metal cutting blade with the teeth sanded down, made up a corner with a base from some sheet metal.
MIG welded the sheet metal to the blade, but it was a pain.
I use 4 strips of Velcro that are pop riveted to the corners one set at the top and one towards the bottom.
You can duck tape the can in place but that gets to be a mess.
He had two short straps with buckles.

It works better with a variable speed saw as you don't have to go fast or long.

Could be used to shake up a can of beer before passing it to an unsuspecting friend  - lots of fun.
