Title: What is this...
Post by: russ57 on June 16, 2020, 03:23:47 AM
On the off chance this might be British, does anyone recognise this logo? (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200616/0e5b1ca73f71f543d3b02789d237bae8.jpg)

What is the piece of tooling? That may help the search.

Unfortunately this is all I have...
Trying to work out what it may have been part of.
The logo looks quite distinctive, but Google image search can't find it...

Looks like some kind of automatic bead roller/swager.

For some reason that logo makes me think of firearms. It's not something to do with bullet making?

Being in Australia, bullet related is possible but unlikely I would have thought.

Some sort of bead /groove roller is likely, but it's a fairly light alloy casting.
The knob seems to offer very fine adjustment of the angle of the roller. A very fine rack and pinion drives a cone into a sleeve which controls the angle.

I guess I'll have to leave it in the cool mystery box.
Have vague idea of using it for a grinding jig.

Assuming that the 922924 was a patent number brings up a patent in Finland for a rotary actuator for slide switch. No other information that I found. I have no idea how that would work.

Thanks Gordon. Didn't think of a patent number, but that would make it a very precise and complicated switch....

If that is the british patent number, then it's a patent for "Process and machine for the continuous manufacture of reinforced sheet material"

Possible patents with that number can be found at https://worldwide.espacenet.com/searchResults?submitted=true&locale=en_EP&DB=EPODOC&ST=advanced&TI=&AB=&PN=922924&AP=&PR=&PD=&PA=&IN=&CPC=&IC=&Submit=Search

It's a pity I didn't post that on the Migwelding forum. Colin is member of that.
