Title: MIG Brazing and other metals

Here is an English forum on welding that has some pretty good how to's and diy info.

Glen,

Interesting. I learned by doing about a little over a year ago when I built my 7000 gross weight trailer. Have hualed a lot of stuff on it and the welds have held up. So I think I did prretty good.

My test for weld penatration is to beat it with a large sledge hammer. If it bends and the weld holds up then it's good.

Very cool!!!

I know the shop I sometimes do weekend stuff at gets repair jobs for British formula cars all the time. They are always brazed tubes. The owner chops up the replacement tubes, gets them all fitted, gives a little tick of a tack from the mig, and once the tubes are all in place, brazes them in with the standard torch. More serious and or difficult brackets and things he Tigs.

Gonna mention the Mig Brazing to him.....
