That boat talks with different tone. If you can do that level of work you can do the engine. The materials just have different quirks.

This was my first venture into model engineering with advice from a retired machinist I was able to make my steam engine and boiler.

I wouldn't say you have limited skills. In fact I would say quite the opposite.
I for one would like to see a build log on the engine!

Well this is the canopy it with a few clamps to hold all in place ,not sure about it at the moment I will leave it for a day or so to see how it grows on me.
The top will be painted mid grey.

My favourite toy, that is truly a stunning model.
If I may ask who did you buy the forms from as I am looking to build a model torpedo launch about 36 inches long
