There's a lot of handy things to salvage from inside the common printer.
-
totally agree, also microwave ovens for timers, microswitches and the ubiquitous MOT. also electric showers for microswitches and copper.. the eccentric out of an orbital sander makes an ideal base for a vibratory polisher even if the sander motor has failed. pop round your local computer shopfor a supply of scrap printers!

If you are wanting an mot or 2 I would be looking to salvage soon.
They seem to be heading towards inverters.
Which may also be useful, some one has produced an induction furnace from one..

mot
So what has the Ministry of Transport to do with printers
-
Because if they are indeed changing to inverters its
“ Hit the road Jack “

Just think how much a 3 pin electric plug and 1.8m of flex costs from the hardware store.
-
I saw one being disassembled the other day it had some neat magnifying lenses in it about 3/4 x6” in maybe 8” and I thought they would cut down nicely for lathes with small dials, verniers, ect.
