i bought a set of these from them a while back.
only problem with the set i got was they stuggle starting the hole, so i pop a centre drill through first
certainly worth the money

Got a set meself today...In fact, I bought the bench mortiser yesterday and along with the steepper drills I also bought the recip saw and the 9 in angle grinder accompanied by spare blades...Must have spent a fortune in there lately...

Just bought a set, they look very good. I also purchased the other 4 piece set with a another stepper drill, a counter sink, cone drill and drill saw. Both look really good value.
I`m probably going to get blasted for this but I also purchased their £5.99 metric drill set 1mm to 10mm in .5 steps and they have been absolutely superb and much better than my more expensive set I bought a while back. I`m looking out for another set for the top shelf when they come back for sale!
All the best.

lol, was posting while you where!
I also saw the reciprocating saw but in all honesty didn`t know what one was!
Chris
EDIT:
The fast, powerful and effective way to saw through all sorts of materials, including wood, plasterboard, steel and plastic.
Variable speed: 0-2700 rpm
Includes 1 wood cut blade and 1 metal cut blade
Quick change blade clamp system
Adjustable sawshoe
Turnable D handle to reach 270 degrees
looks useful! What dia steel we talking about?

Bought one of those 9" angle grinders a while ago.
Nice in that they have a soft start and don't break your wrist as it fires up.
Contrary to normal power tool usage you need to hold the button in on the side before you press the trigger.
Another item I have never seen before is there is a yellow block shaped button on the handle which when pulled out allows the handle to rotate 90 degrees so you can position the handle for vertical or horizontal use.
I used mine last week to chop a 90mm solid steel bar up into 4 pieces, it was very quick and used 1 1/2 discs to do the 3 cuts.

That is a lovely set there Don.
I have a couple of the Aldi ones, but we can only usually get the metric flavour.
I suppose one day I will find some imperial ones at the right price.

Thanks. I just spotted them by accident so thought I would let the boys on this side of the pond know about them. I don't have a set myself so I can't vouch for the quality. I have one that I have had for about 25 years that was sold by "ViseGrip" and made in the US. It took everything I could put it through with no complaint.
Maybe you could get your buddy to pick up a set for you for the next time he comes over.
Cheers

There are actually two sets at Aldi, same price.
One set is the 3 piece one mentioned and the other is a 4 piece set with the small step drill, a cone drill, a countersink and one of those drill / rotary files.
One set compliments the other, grabbed one of each.

Hi Dave
These led lamps from Argos are a lot better with a stronger light, got one for my shop, an added bonus is the long lead in my small shop I can move it round from mill to lathe to bench.

After the bathroom suite manoeuvrings are finished, there will be far too much Christmas crowding for me to venture down town. :D
Where does everyone go to, when it`s not Christmas?
