That looks like a bit of fun.

I recall a similar experiment with an electric motor and friction drive; the friction drive ate through the tyre in no time. We had to fit a solid tyre.

RE brakes.  I take it you mean the lack off.

But what a brilliant machine. You would probably get five years hard labour if you rode that rig here in the UK.

I doubt it would be street legal anywhere in Europe!

On some older bicycles, the brake, on the rear wheel, was activated by pedalling in reverse. The pedals actually just moved a little.
