Title: Steam in the Winter
Post by: Bernd on June 10, 2009, 03:15:53 PM
I know it's just getting warm, but there's nothing like live steam in the winter. You got to love it.

Nice...

A Steam Train runs past my house several times every day. I rarely pay much attention, but it is very pretty....

It's track has been extended in the last few years and it's growing all the time. You can now travel many miles for several hours...

I'm talking across the mountain ranges here, not round and round someones garden... :)

This line runs in the state of New Hampshire. I've been there and had a ride behind the steam during the summer. Very mountainess in that area even if the vid doesn't show it.

If you travel on that line to the north it goes through a spectacular valley and then through a narrow pass that is shared with a regular two lane road.

Don't know what year that was taken. Seems like a lot of steam tourist lines around here have dissapeared because of libility insurance. Way to high and not enough ridership.
