Title: X3 - how much space needed
Post by: 28ten on August 19, 2009, 03:16:06 PM
A question for those of you that have an X3. As I suggested in my workshop thread I am building a new bench and I may mount the X3 on it haw much space do I need in terms of depth and width to accommodate and operate it? the depth is stated as 670mm but will i need more than this? the width is stated as 765mm so I'm guessing that I will need to double this for operating clearance.
If you feel like taking pictures of your set up even better  :D :D

Hi

The stand I got with my mill is very well made far better than the stand that came with my lathe, its got adjustable feet so leveling up was a dodle, you end up with a very stable set up, I'm very pleased with it.

If you go with a self build aim for something that is as equally robust and you will have a very nice machine, I'm very happy with mine, I will be fitting a DRO and a power feed in a few months and will post a thread.

Have fun
