Reading a little more about the family, he's the son of the original carver who did a history of the locomotive in models carved from wood and ivory as a hobby. The father had only a second grade education (7 yr old, U.S.). They have a little museum in Ohio, and give the pliers away to school children who visit the museum. The father worked in the steel industry for 35 years, and when it moved away, started a kitchen knife business, which is still carried on today. He used tool steel originally, they use a specialty stainless today, and the knives have an engine turned finish. Nice family history.
