New SX3 Milling Machine Z Axis Question

Hi all,
I have just taken delivery of a new SX3 milling machine from Axminster tools, over all I am very happy with it. Much better than my old SX2 machine.

One issue I have noticed is that although smooth the Z axis is a bit noisy somewhere at the back at the base.

Is this normal? Or do I have a defect machine. Can other SX3 owners confirm?

Hi

I have a x3, and found it a good machine,  but when new I had to strip it down to install,  and found that the bevel gear for the z axis was badly installed this could only be corrected  by fitting a new shaft from the handle.

Thanks Stew for your reply.

I will I think unbolt from the bench, twist it around and remove he back cover just to have a look and see if anything looks wrong. Probably just needs a clean and re grease.
