   Part is actually 3 pieces. 2 piece shaft and a nut. Bore end of 1 piece of shaft and thread internally.
   Turn smaller dia on other shaft and thread to match bore on other shaft. Screw together, then single point thread outer dia on lathe. Take apart, add nut to match thread on outer dia then screw shaft back together. Voila captive nut! ::)

   Hope I didn't rain on anyones parade.
