Unthinkable today. To win the world championship, in your own designed car.

A great man, who lived a great life.

Still drilling holes... Sometimes, in the right place!

Still modifying bits of metal... Occasionally, making an improvement!

And he didn't let it go to his head.  Jack still came to the Festival of Sporting Cars until a few years ago and would wander through the paddock yarning with competitors and spectators alike.

That's one of the joys of Historic Racing: the pits are open and anyone can join in the experience.

Vale Jack.

Well posted

I as a kid of 6 met him when he lived at the end of our street one quiet Sunday morning getting the great machine ready for racing. Oh the delight it brought to my ears to hear that sweet sound back in the 60's imagine not much else moving sounds of birds chirping then an awesome explosion an waft of racing fuel. I near tore my dad's arm off dragging him down the street to see what made such noise smelled so sweet.

It changed a young immigrant childs ideals into one who love motor sports. Thanks Jack!!!!

Met him again years latter when he was at Warwick Farm a couple of times.
