Hello, My name is Shawn, I'm 43 years old from north central Iowa. Ive been building various kinds of models since I was around 8 years old and recently became very interested in the steam modeling hobby. I purchased and built the Midwest Products Model VI steam engine along with the radio control Fantail Launch II steam boat kit by Midwest Products but have not had a chance to get to the pond with it yet for the maiden run. I also have machining and welding background and hoping to purchase some sort of lathe/milling machine to try my hand at building model steam engines from plans etc. I hope to learn all I can here and in the process, hopefully help out myself.
