No problem about the materials Stew.... It just takes me a few weeks to get some (current climate, maybe a month!!)

You should have said about the mini Stew.... 15 years smacking cars with a big hammer :hammer:! Owned 2 minis as well  :)  (Found my timing light in a garage clear up last week too!)

No need to do the posting thing... It's ok to wait till I next visit Crewe... Won't be too long..... I've been getting a little instructing from John on RT usage.... It's amazing what you can pick up from a demo and plenty of chat

I've got some other stuff still here that I forgot to bring today, nuts, bolts and the likes. So I'll sort that for next time too.

Mark,
No worries about the thread... I am ok with it.  It all relates to craftsmens work anyway  :)

That's a large bit of a ball there... Much harder to polish being steel too!  Nice to see you take a mean curvy picture too

It took me a little time to figure it all out.... The split ball to allow the "T" slot to be made (does this allow any later adjustment?)
Very interesting bit of machining

When you have some engraving works started it would be nice if you would post them... I (as possibly many of the members) haven't a clue about the difficulties of engraving and the starting bits of a beginner are just as, if not more interesting to see than a "pro's" like you can see on youtube or a purchased instructional vid'!
It's nice to see the way someone learns and what they can produce   I'll leave that one upto you  :)

I've got a project  :proj: I've been wanting to do for quite some while:- A pocket sundial, but to do it justice it needs some engraving work so I would be keen to see how its done.

Ralph

That little goody bag will get a bit bigger for your visit

Cheers

Stew,

I have a load of scrap iron sitting in my garden waiting for you to pick up.

You will need motorised transport, as I don't think you can carry it all home in a bag.

Bogs

sbwhart:
Thanks John

Will it keep until the weekend, I've got relatives over at the moment so its a bit difficult to get away.

Cheers

Stew

Nope, sorry, if you are not here within the next ten minutes, it goes in my stash.

What a silly question, you know it can stay here as long as it needs to. Anything in the garden is the wife's problem, not mine.

John
