First, I wish you all a happy New Year.

Now to business...
My cat has p,,,sed on my chuck quite some time ago and now that I decided that I have finelly found the necessary footprint for it, I have discovered to my despair that the chuck has turned to a solid block from the rust. I have tried to force my way but to no results. I therefore wish you to let me know if there is a way to remove the rust succesfully and operate my little jewel again.

Have a quick googlr for electrolysis rust removal, no need for harsh abrasives etc with this method and things will loosen enough for you.

Just fling them both in a bath of caustic soda  or hydrochloric acid

The chuck will de rust and you can enjoy the rest of 2014 looking for the cat.

I had luck tossing a rusty chuck in cider vinegar for a couple of days. Disassemble it and tossed back in clean cider and finished the job. I found that while restoring some old furniture, tossing the rusty hardware in Cider Vinegar would clean the rust off...

I use a product called Evapo-Rust.  You just drop your re-encrusted item into the fluid, and take it out the next day.  It removes every bit of rust, without harming the base metal, nor anything else that might be attached - paint, aluminum, pot metal etc.

I don't know that it is available outside the USA, but there may be a copy product. Look for "rust chelant"
