Storage ideas for shops of any size
« on: May 12, 2008, 08:37:22 AM »

Under work bench drawer units taken from the cubicle desk partition set ups

Drawer units removed from work tables and welded together after stacking and mounting on a frame with casters. The grinder and buffer are just on top as a storage place

The drawer units are from the ultra cheapo import metal desks.

The wire grids are old Fluorescent fixture wire guards, they help keeping the shorter metal from falling out

Wooden sewing machine cabinet drawers, taken from damaged cabinets, along with the standard parts drawers

Assorted items picked up at sales and for the hauling away and converted for storage.

The standard drawer type storage units

The overhead hanger is made using wall shelve hanger bars and shelve brackets, like are used for material storage.

This is sheet goods racks, and small item/stock storage from the shelve uprights brackets and PVC thin wall drainage piping sections with plex X's in side to divide each in to 4 section for gas welding and brazing rod

The shoe boxes from the big box stores on sale, along with the larger sizes will hold all the parts from the copy machines and other items you take apart.

More of the shoe box storage on a counter shelf

Kitty litter buckets with the lids and hole cut in the top used to hold rope for easy keep clean storage and dispensing.

Something new in storage I just put in

Dowel storage in the joists with scrap shelving and left over PVC drain pipe sections

What you need

Section of PVC with a hole in each end for the aircraft cable.

Or section of shelf

The milk crates were cracked handles or broken they cut down easy with a ply blade in a circ saw and still were stackable.

You do Parrot toys? I have a cockatiel that has inspired a few things to make. I have some in the works to eventually build.

Yes I have manufactured the toys they chew up for over 20 years, about 250 plus styles in small, medium, large and extra large.

Thru the fast times and the slow times, it now has become the almost stopped times for sales.
