welding third hand

I know we've all seen made and used  a welding hand but done something a little different! I've threaded the end and used mig tips for the contact this way you can grind whatever shape you want on the end eg/ a groove to help holding small round profile or just flat if that's better all you do is unscrew and grind the tip to shape or grind a new mig tip

Been thinking of making one of these.. are they really that versatile? I weld alot of small parts so usually stick em together with neodymium magnets.

mfletch:
Yes there very handy and now I can profile the ends to suit the work profile it holds even better

Make one they cost nothing

Do you not get 'arc blow' welding near such powerful magnets?

David Jupp:
Has come up before - I hope you aren't really grinding copper (at least not on a standard grinder).  It can lead to wheel explosion.
