Accidents happen in that split second that you get too comfortable with what you're doing.  And then of course there are the people that reinforce Darwin's theory.

I have to say, watching that skinny guy do up the chuck in a less than coordinated way, something was bound to happen.

Yuup  35 years ago I was turning a crank shaft on a lathe,  it looked liked like the steady rest on the end of the bearing was marking it up so i put my finger on the bearing to rub the oil off and the counter weight came around and sliced of the tip (between the steady rest and counter weight).
Rapped a oily rag around it and finished turn the bearing.  Then went to the doctor.

Ouch. Good man for carrying on though. I always keep a bottle of superglue close by for emergency body repairs. :)

I agree with you on that one,  superglue,  yes  instant repair for those cuts that just won't stop.. :ddb:

I just put a piece of cigarette paper on it, it dries and stops the bleeding.
