I only turn small widgets, usually, and part off using a blade type 1.5mm wide tool. I`ve seen the hint/ tip to part off in reverse, but not tried it until yesterday....... It works a treat! :clap: :thumbup: My little lathe now laughs at large pieces of 1" brass. ::) Like this "steam dome" for my boiler. Another success! Now I have my miller, I will make a 10mm square holder for the 1/4" tool shank..... :thumbup: Happy David. |

David, Yes it works great because the chips or swarf falls out of the cut. Now for a bit of saftey. Be careful as the chuck can unscrew while cutting backwards like that. Bernd |
