Little Grinding Jig for Diamond Stone |
<< < (2/2) |
philf:
Joules, I have a commercially made Bergeon screwdriver sharpening tool which has a self centering feature. You squeeze the two ends together, pop the screwdriver in and release the ends which clamps and centres the screwdriver. I was never too happy using it to do the end of the screwdriver blade so I made a dual purpose widget to square off the ends. You set the tip of the blade so that the single bearing is just clear of the stone - it stops cutting when the bearing touches the stone. It also doubles up for graver sharpening. I have a commercial graver sharpener but was never very happy with it. I also have the Eclipse plane and chisel honing aid which Fergus mentioned. This is a useful tool. To set the angles you adjust the protrusion of the blade. Phil. |

Phil that jig you made for the gravers is excellent... I was inspired by the Bergeon I saw online. I am taking on board some of the other comments and looking to expand on those ideas for other sharpening jobs. Cheers guys Joules |
