How to Wind a Coil Spring on the Metal Lathe |
<< < (3/3) |
Mizlplix:
I am an "Old school" gunsmith. This method has been used for many years. The funny part is that there was no video to learn from in those days. Thanks for the nice tutorial. BTW: we always used back gear for winding And when you are doing compression springs, We used the thread cutting gear so we could set our pitch. Thanks again! Miz |
TLGriff:
Thanks Miz. I've tried winding the pitch directly for a compression spring, but found that it's just easier and more predictable to wind it tight and then stretch it to whatever pitch you need. Either way, you end up with a compression spring. Tom |
