Bridgeport interact
« on: September 19, 2013, 02:30:57 AM »
Hi,all I have a bridgeport interact cnc series 1 mk2 mill, just burnt the spindle motor out,got a price from a local company in the n.east for to rewind it, nearly had a heart attack ,telephone numbers,
I know a lot of people on here have the same machine ,so does any one have a spare spindle motor for sale,or where I can buy one ,or a fair price to rewinde mine, without having to remortgage my house or sell the car,

You won't get a cheap price to rewind one due to labour and cost of materials.
At the moment the cut off for buying new against a rewind is sitting around the 15 HP mark.

You may not get a new motor in that position if it's the one that hangs down due to length.

Depends on what gives you a heart attack, i consider £313 plus vat for a rewind of a 2 speed 3 phase motor to be acceptable but others might not ?

I could stand that ,but I am talking £1000+vat so at the end of the day that's not all that cheap, when some of the machines on flea bay, go from say £1000 to £1600,I should have bought a couple just to keep as spares, when I had the chance, and the space ,

Peter,

I've been thinking exactly the same thing recently.... I blew a servomotor on mine, when I told the rewind guy I could get one from the US for £700, he said go for it - it'll be cheaper than fixing the broken one...!

Like you, I am looking for decent 2nd hand machines to buy for spares, there's a tidy Interact 2 Mk 4 on right now which would be perfect if it weren't for the TNC150 controller  A TNC151 and I'd have been all over it like a rash.
Cheers!
Ade.
