My favourite tv show is probably Tim Hunkin's secret life of machines The episodes are all up on youtube. The guy is my hero and I think he does a great job at explaining how the machines work and how they were developed without avoiding the interesting details. I found the show when looking up how solenoid valves worked (he has a good run down of them in the washing machine episode). I've tried getting friends to watch it in the past but it wouldn't hold their attention, so I suppose it isn't the ideal format for all audiences. |
