Hi all, I'm a 60ish retired guy from Texas. I have been building custom bicycle cruiser frames, for the last several years and they have taken over all my space. I decided to get into machines in hopes of a good hobby that won't take up as much room.
I bought a used 8x12 HF lathe a couple weeks ago. Always wanted one. Got it for $500 with some tooling. Then had to have a mill to complement the lathe. I bought a Grizzly g0704. As with others my stand came bent and they are sending another. Decided to whip up a simple stand. Like mine better. As soon as the feeling comes back in two of my fingers on my left hand from lifting, I will be in good shape. Have them both setup and have made a few test runs. Going to have to wait a little on money to build up , for more tooling for the mill. Stuff gets expensive. Hope to have fun with them. My set up so far.

Thanks guys. I'm really excited about my new hobby. Its fun to try to learn
all the things to just get going. Have read a bunch and will continue. Lots
of good information here.
