Hi all, I'm a 60ish retired guy from Texas. I have been building custom bicycle cruiser frames,for the last several years and they have taken over all my space. I decided to get into machines in hopes of a good hobby that won't take up as much room. I bought a used 8x12 HF lathe a couple weeks ago. Always wanted one. Got it for $500 with some tooling. Then had to have a mill to complement the lathe. I bought a Grizzly g0704. As with others my stand came bent and they are sending another. Decided to whip up a simple stand. Like mine better. As soon as the feeling comes back in two of my fingers on my left hand from lifting, I will be in good shape. Have them both setup and have made a few test runs. Going to have to wait a little on money to build up , for more tooling for the mill. Stuff gets expensive. Hope to have fun with them. My set up so far. |

Thanks guys. I'm really excited about my new hobby. Its fun to try to learn all the things to just get going. Have read a bunch and will continue. Lots of good information here. |
