fuse selection
Pete49:
Dear collective Just after some advice on fuse selection. I have just finished repairing a Waeco power supply, a Mobitronic MPS 50 which switches 240AC to 24V DC to run a portable fridge/freezer. The fuse in question is a 15A 250V glass fuse and I need to know if it is a fast or slow blow fuse. Its in line with the 240V input prior to the rest of the circuit. Any help would go a long way to getting this job out of my shed and back to earning its keep

There should be some additional information in the feral on the fuse. Like AGC, or MDL. This is what identifies the type of fuse as far as trip characteristics. Then voltage and amperage. As an example AGC 15 250vac

I find that a 0.8mm mig tips to be excellent slow burn fuse's , never had one blow yet ! ;-)

IMHO it needs to be a slow blo due to the inductive nature of the transformer....
Usual disclaimer...
...and I stand to be corrected if I'm wrong :zap:

I'd be very surprised if it is really 15A ! could it be 1.5A with a less than obvious decimal point?
