     Thanks for the comments lads  :thumbup: I will be presenting it to the new owner this week so might get a photo of it up on the wall to post.  Hi Andyf , I am not a woodcarver , to be honest the only things I have ever carved have been posted on here, I have just collected tools , read books then joined a carving club and had a go , its the type of thing I think a lot of people would be much better than they would think at, if they give it a go. I will take it as a compliment that you thought I might do it as a job................ the only problem would be the price lol, if I charged by the hours it takes me it would be £1,000s lol
  I had wondered what type of mahogany it was so thanks for the info about it being Honduran vtsteam  :thumbup:

 I might get back to the lion plaque now but then again it might be a wren ( small bird ) I have a go at next for a change.

That is a nice job. If you hadn't told us the above, I would have sworn you had been doing it for a lot longer. It's nice to have multiple talents.
