Car boot sale bargain finds

<< < (28/51) > >>

micktoon:
Hi All , Due to mainly weather  I have not been to many boot sales but got to an indoor market last week and got some new taper shank drills, a long series normal shank drill and a reamer , I got the lot for £10.
I can't remember the actual sizes off the top of my head but the long MT2 drill is 18 inches long, largest was 14.5mm I think , all good makes and unused so happy with them.

Cheers Mick

Gentlemen,

We don't have car boot sales here (USA), but call them yard sales, etc.  I was wondering why they are called car boot sales?  Because you drive to them and store what you buy in the trunk of your car?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I was wondering

Things have become more organised in recent times.

Originally. The sellers assembled their cars/ vans, in a field or car park area, and their wares are displayed on the ground, or a table, around the rear of the car.

Or indeed were in the boot of the car, hence the name

(For our American cousins boot = trunk)
