NickG:
I got to the Chester stand about 5 past but think everyone had gone! It was a bit sparse in there reeves and Bruce engineering had no engine castings on display just fittings. There weren't many suppliers of engine castings, stuart (who didnt have any prices or a pricelist without buying a £5 catalogue!), blackgates who are loco / fitting orientated, engineers emporium abd as i said bruce / polly + reeves didnt take any. the lack of tool suppliers is a result of doing better trade over the Internet as John S said. Didn't realise until you said David that i didn't hear any gas engines except for the two on the stand next to us - maybe they used butane. I got bored and left about two, but then regretted not looking at stuff in more detail! Not going back today though. |
Stilldrillin:
During the past 5 shows, the Chester stand has been further back. And, we used to block the gangway...... :palm: So, we moved a few yards, into the window area for last year, and it worked well! I guess, next year's directions will be, in the window area, across from the entry doors. Sorry you couldn't join us Nick..... :( David D |

I got there 20 mins too late for the rendezvous, if indeed it took place. Didn't spot anyone I knew. Maybe we should devise a lapel badge like the exhibitors wear; a 2" disc in dayglo yellow with a big "M" on it, or something. Like David D, I was slightly disappointed, and for the same reasons. There did seem to be fewer visitors, but maybe that was because the absence of several trade exhibitors made for more space. Andy. |
Deko:
David D, Philf, Stew, and myself walked back and forth between the Chester UK stand and the big window for the best part of an hour, with a 10 min pause at each end, but no one came to say hello. Never mind there is always next year. I went with 5 other blokes from "men in sheds" and we all enjoyed the show. Cheers Dek. :med: |
John Rudd:
Looks like I missed you all...... I spent the first hour looking round at what was on offer....Made my way through the crowds to buy stuff and hoping to see Stew..He must have known and was avoiding being spotted  The general theme seemed to be a lack of traders, I rang Chronos on Thursday to see if they were going to be there after I'd heard a rumour... Didnt see Dianne Carney either or the modeling press stand she was supposed to be presiding over... Guess there's next year if there is a show :coffee: |
