Hi David, I remember meeting you, Divided he ad, Craynerd, AussieJimG, John Stevenson and the late HS93 last year. I'll put a bit of string through the wheel and hang it round my neck! I've still to make one in metal. I keep thinking of a CNC lathe to profile them and then cutting out the spokes on the mill. Trouble is - I don't have a CNC lathe. (It should be possible to turn them on the mill so another project on the "to-do" list is to make an ER32 to Myford nose adaptor so I can attach a 3-jaw chuck. (Reminder to self - be careful not to try to run it at 10,000 rpm!)) I'm going to pick up a new ballscrew for the Z-axis on my mill tomorrow. When I get round to fitting it I should be able to run the Z-axis 4 or 5 times faster than with the Acme screw which is where much machining time is lost. :beer: Phil. |

Hi David, I did meet you at Harrogate a few years ago, I was introduced to you by Stew, who was showing you his (then) latest creations which were in the boot of his car.
