Simple QRTP |

Bill Stupak:
This is a simple QRTP design I'm trying out. I made it to work with existing tool holders that came with an A to Z tool post. It works by expanding the male dovetail on the post with a cap screw that bears against one side of the dovetail. The slot running along the side allows that side of the dovetail to flex enough (.010") to firmly bind the tool holder. It was pretty easy to make and seems to work pretty well. Bill S |

That's pretty cool. Question would it have better bearing on the base on your lathe if it was made from square stock instead of round? |
Bill Stupak:
Probably, but it was the material I had on hand, also it is still larger than the A to Z tool post. Bill |
vtsteam:
Oh, well, then that was the best material for the job! |
