Cleaning up my old lathe.
« on: January 07, 2013, 09:50:05 AM »
A couple of years ago I purchased an old lathe of unknown origin and spent several months getting it up an running.  Recently I have found out that it may well be a Willson lathe, out of the UK but I cannot be 100% sure.  Anyhow, I thought some of you may be interested in reading the write up I posted on WMF:

Thanks for the comments everyone.  Once I have fixed the feed drives, I'll take a video of her in full swing.  Actually, I have some threading to do shortly, so I might get a video of that.  Problem is that I always forget to take my tripod with me, as the lathe isn't at my house.

maybe your tripod ought to move in with the lathe, they seem adapted to each other!

Wow, just found this one. Beautiful job on that lathe. What a nice solid piece of machinery! Love the ship's wheel tailstock spinner.

Thanks vtsteam - there is still a lot of work to be done in getting the feeds operational again.
