The Sunny South?....ummmmm

(1/2) > >>

cedge:
Looks like ol' man winter has not given up on us down here in the sunny southern US. For our area, a 4 - 6 inch snow, like this one, is a big one and something we only see every few years. My 7 year old grandson saw his first snow today and his 11 year old brother hardly recalls his last one.

The photo below is a night shot taken from my rear deck while the stuff was falling "moderately" as compared to the periods of large, very heavy sloppy wet flakes as large as silver dollars. Temp is due to drop to 28°F tonight and then rise to 43° tomorrow, just in time to encounter 18° after sunset tomorrow night. All 3 snow plows are doing 24 hour duty. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Now I see why you were getting excited while talking on Skype tonight.

Time to get the Christmas tree out again.

I see they split up winter again. You guys in the south get the snow and we get the wind and cold up here.

I was thinking about you last night when I heard it was snowing in Alabama. Figured it wouldn't be long before it hit you guys.

4" to 6" up here is normal, but when we hear 14" to 16" panic sets in and the stores are empty of milk and bread. Hell I go for a beer run, to hell with the milk.
