Miniature Wood Planes
flyingtractors1:
Thanks all.
They are the real thing - just real small fasioned of sheet brass hand cut and formed to shape then silver soldered and screwed / bolted together, filed smooth and polished. Same for the exotic wood parts. Lots of hand sawing, filing, sanding and polishing. The blades are hardened steel straps ground to size and shape. I'm on some kind of tangent here and can't seem to stop.

Thanks John. Yes, I'm working on a tool box for them and other tools in the collection, etc. When I get them neatly arranged I'll post a picture. Ralph

Top Class Ralph   , I could imagine them working well on other small projects, like making the wood items for future miniture planes, A nice thing to build up a collection of. Have you seen the Karl Holty planes website here http://www.holteyplanes.com/ , I would think you will have Ralph but maybe others will not have , all top notch stuff, his workshop diary pages are worth a look.
Thanks for posting , Cheers Mick.

Thanks Mick. I have found that these tiny planes come in very handy when working on other projects, and my collection continues to grow as I expand my skill set. Working on the lostwax process now - a whole new set of skills. Well I'm still growing. No - I hadn't seen Karl Holty's work. Inspiring, Thanks again. Ralph
