Charles Lessig:
As a lifelong tinkerer this seems to be a great place. I have always worked as some sort of technician.
My specialty is stuff nobody, including me, knows about. Things that normal people know about are
not so interesting.

Here is a contraption that I worked on furiously for a month of so. It is a variable speed transmission
with forward and reverse using a variable speed belt drive with a 2 to 1 range.

The only thing I think new is the skate wheel differential. My friend set up the camera and I was
explaining it to him. The sound didn't come through very well though.

The differential passes through zero so it is just an infinite reduction and not a real neutral.

This might be useful for something.   Charles

Welcome Charles! Sounds interesting -- will check out the video this afternoon -- off to buy some steel.

Hi and welcome to MadModder. That is quite the transmission that you have built there. I'm still not sure I understand exactly how it works. You can be sure that some of the members here will be interested in learning how it works. We look forward to your participation in the various threads.

I took the liberty of embedding the video for you, I hope that you don't mind.

Cheers
