Hello
dsquire:
HI Suggy
Welcome to MadModder Suggy. As a new member it is sometimes hard to know where to start and what to do. You appear to have hit the ground running and appear to be making all the right moves. The photo size that you have chosen is Excellent and allows good detail without having to scroll to see the whole photo. Bigger is not always better.
I am sure that you have generated some interest in the grinding rest and I know I will be following along. If you have any questions just ask as there is always someone around to answer or at least give an opinion. I look forward to your participation in the various threads.
Cheers

Hi Suggy
Welcome. You have the same lathe and mill as i have, had mine about two years and (touch wood) no problems so far. :med:
What do you think of yours ?
Cheers Dek.

Hi Suggy,
Job well done, I like the way you have fabricated the rest and kept it simple, it should enable you to sharpen all your Lathe tools.
Cheers and welcome David

Dek, no problems yet. wish lathe was metric. Fitted DRO in metric which have just developed a fault.
I tryed to upload a file with a plan for the rest but it wont work. If anyone wants a copy I can email it to you or when I have made 10 posts I will re-try

Hi Suggy
No DRO's on my lathe (which is metric) as i have not yet found the need for them, but about 18 months ago i fitted some low cost ones from Arc Euro on the Xand Y of the mill (z axis is built in). I have had no trouble with them but i do my best to keep them clean which must help. The pic shows the X one ok but the Y is underneath the red rubber cover and uses the remote readout you can see at the top. Very happy with both, and would recomend to all those with a tight budget. :coffee:
Cheers Dek.
