Cutting my first spur gears

Nice job. I have only made a few gears but I remember the first one well - I was bricking it the whole way :D

Looks good!  I've made a few myself, but I've never had the luxury of a profile cutter.  I've always had to grind a tool and fit things the best I can.  It would probably sound better with the gear cutter over a single point tool as well... ;)

Thanks for noticing the dividing head, happy to say that it works as it should.

Now, since you hinted so nicely, here you go!


The last one to go is 80 teeth on the blank you see there, and then all done for the Minnie (as far as spur gears are concerned)
(Of course, NOTHING ELSE is done yet... had to start somewhere :) )
