Hi Joe

Congratulations on cutting your first set of gears. That wasn't so hard was it. Because it was new made it seem hard. Now that you have that first pair out of the way watch out, Joe is going to give the world a new spin.

:D :D

Cheers

Thanks guys.

The long term objective (VERY long term) is to put them in a Minnie traction engine.  :dremel:    It's all Rob Wilson's fault.

Nice job. I have only made a few gears but I remember the first one well - I was bricking it the whole way :D

Looks good!  I've made a few myself, but I've never had the luxury of a profile cutter.  I've always had to grind a tool and fit things the best I can.  It would probably sound better with the gear cutter over a single point tool as well... ;)

Thanks again guys.

just few more gears to do  :poke:Rob

Jeeze Rob.... give a man time to breath....  and since we're poking  :poke:  how's YOUR traction engine coming along?

Thanks for noticing the dividing head, happy to say that it works as it should.

Now, since you hinted so nicely, here you go!

The last one to go is 80 teeth on the blank you see there, and then all done for the Minnie (as far as spur gears are concerned)
(Of course, NOTHING ELSE is done yet... had to start somewhere :) )
