That is a nice knife, lovely bit of timber you have there. The knife looks right, the handle being in the correct proportion to the blade. I have made replacement handles for various cutting tools, never made a knife blade. Cheers David |

Cherry is my guess. I cut a fair amount of it because it tends to grow in hedgerows along a stone wall here. The wood varies between the classical deep red brown to cream color in the sapwood -- which is what I think you have. It will darken a little with age, but probably just look even better Nice job -- and an unusual wood, cream cherry. |
