Hello to all, I'm Darren from Southampton, UK.

I am pretty new to the model engineering world and engineering in general.

One of my many interests is collecting "cutaways" of various items, i bought a few cutaway items from here and there and then I decided that it was time to have a go at making some of my own as a hobby.

A year or so ago I bought a Seig SX2 milling machine and all the bits and bobs to get me started. Although I haven't spent a great deal of time with the machine I have managed to learn the basics and over the last year have converted a few complete items into cutaway display items for my collection.

I have now decided that as an addition to making cutaways I would like to progress to making various small engines so have ended up here.

Not sure if I am able to complete a basic project with just a milling machine (no lathe as yet) but we will see.

I'm looking forward to participating and being part of this community.

Welcome to MadModder. I have seen some of your cutaways on another forum and I am sure the members here would like to look at them as well. If you have any questions just ask as there is allways someone around to answer or at least give an opinion. We look forward to your participation in the forum.

Thanks for the warm welcome Don, yes I have also recently joined the model engine maker forum where I posted some pictures of my cutaways. When I have figured out the appropriate section here I will post more pictures.

Cutaways , That takes me back I had a collection of carbs I did when I was a lad ,my old craft teacher got me into it .Hope we  get  to see yours  :thumbup:
