Fergus OMore:
How sad. How utterly sick fetching! All this for a quid coin?

I almost wrote- Get a Life ( and I have)
If I get banned, bollocked, or whatever-- it will all have been in a good cause.

....very confused! Are people getting the wrong end of the stick here????

In England, most supermarkets use a £1 coin, specifically, to release a trolley. This encourages customers to return their trolley after use! This little disk can be clipped to a key ring so that you don't have to worry about having a coin with you. You shove in the disk and it pops back out at you when the trolley is returned. If you leave it in you loose the disk and someone else will pop it out so it doesn't ever benefit anyone!!! It seems like people think you are somehow using this disks instead of spending £1 and ripping someone off!
DavidA:
Fergus,

I (and some others it seems ) fail to see what you are getting wound up about.  No one is cheating anyone out of anything.

What is your problem here ?

Dave.
Fergus OMore:
Actually people are being 'ripped off' from the use of tokens.

My wife reported that she- amongst others, had been robbed.
a £1 means nothing to us but some old age pensioner livin- or trying to live on what is a pittance, it is a sorry state.
If you are happy with creating a situation where more tokens are being produced, I'm not.

Norman Atkinson

raynerd:
Norman, thanks for your reply but I am still incredibly incredibly confused.

Are we talking about the same type of tokens since I can't see in the slightest how you can be ripped off by them. The police produce trolley tokens !!!!!! You put the trolley token in, you take your trolley, you return the trolley and you pull out the token.
